It was during the Covid pandemic, and I met with Reuben at a cafe that wouldn’t let you in but could serve you a coffee out of the door.

We stood on the street and passed the time talking and, generally caught up and, before we departed, we said well let’s pray. Reuben asked if there was anything that I wanted prayer for, and I thought for a moment and said, yeah, I really did; because although the lockdown was beginning to ease, my finances had been stressed through the whole period.

So we prayed on that subject and within 3 minutes, I got a phone call from someone saying “do you want to come up here?” They had an opportunity to sell the thing that I was making, and it also accompanied a real sense of, “this is answer to prayer” – not just the circumstances but in my innermost being, I could feel that this was an answer to prayer.

The opportunity led on to another thing, and then another thing and another, to where – rather than being glad to be given an opportunity in a small country town market, I’m now sending my work all over the world at quite a lot of money for the poor old people who buy it!

I am not motivated by money but, the point of it all is, prayer really is answered. And if you pray with those who can hear God, they pray according to the will of God; not according to the fears or desires of man, and for that, I’m really grateful to God for doing that, and for Reuben for being attentive.
